Chitabe Camp

Location:

Chitabe Camp borders the famous Moremi Game Reserve, situated in a private concession area on a beautiful isle in the south-east of the Okavango Delta, Botswana. The 22,000 hectare parcel has all the scenery you would expect to enjoy on a luxury African safari – open floodplains, waterways, marshlands, dry acacia and mopane woodlands, riverine areas and open grasslands. This makes it host to the range of wildlife, birds and habitats which only the Okavango Delta can offer. The area is rich in predators, which you are bound to see frequently on your stay.

The Camp:

Chitabe Camp’s 8 immense Bantu-style tents, constructed on raised timber decks, wait safely behind the sentry of ancient Okavango Delta trees. Each tent has twin beds, en-suite amenities and indoor and outdoor showers. You will never miss a glimpse of the floodplains with the uninhibited views from the wooden decks. In the afternoons, swim in the sparkling pool, or unwind in the thatched lounge, bar and dining areas.

Activities & Wildlife:

The wildlife in this breath-taking sector of the Okavango Delta is as diverse as it is prolific: from elephant to impala, and lion to wild dog.

Luxury African safaris at Chitabe Camp include day and night game drives in open 4×4 vehicles, nature walks and spectacular birdwatching opportunities. The multiplicity of habitats surrounding Chitabe Camp means there is an abundance of wildlife to be seen, including elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, tsessebe, impala and, occasionally, wild dogs. Night drives also provide opportunities for guests to see nocturnal mammals such as civet, serval, genet, porcupine and aardwolf.
