A few minutes’ drive from the Ol Kiombo airstrip, on the eastern portion of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, prepare for a heart-warming experience of luxury.
Guests can choose from one of the houses, each with its unique view and charmingly African design. Acacia House has two spacious bedrooms with private en-suite facilities, along with a double bedroom and bathroom. With a veranda that looks out over the sloping land towards the Ol Chorro watering hole, Mara Bush Houses carry the traditional cosiness of a home. Log fires and a swimming pool soften the impact of the weather, whilst a house manager, chef and private guide make your wishes a reality.
Topi House has perhaps the best views of the area. From the veranda that links the 3 expansive bedrooms guests can glimpse the endless green hills of this pristine wilderness. Each bedroom has en-suite facilities and the house has a retinue of staff at your service. Just beyond the deck you’ll find a campfire spot, ideal for evenings where stories come alive in the orange firelight.
Mara House is the newest accommodation available. The best of Acacia and Topi went into its conception, providing guests with ample lounge areas and warm verandas for tremendous views of the hills and valleys of the land. 3 en-suite bedrooms await you, along with a private house manager, chef and guide to spoil you through your stay. Cool down in the freshness of your swimming pool, watching the animals parading through the camp grounds.
Wildlife and Activities
Prepare to see elephants frolicking at the waterhole, lion cubs jostling around the banks. The diversity of the wildlife is truly breath-taking. Each of the houses has a personal guide that will take you on a safari adventure, customised to your liking. The differences are that at Acacia and Mara houses there are day and night drives, along with visits to the local community to enrich your cultural experience. There are also many activities for the kids that will keep them entertained for hours on end.
Topi house has a different set of activities because of its locality. Game drives head straight into the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, where the concentrations of game are phenomenal to behold. There are also loads of kids activities here, ensuring their engagement over your stay. Visits to the Koiyaki Guiding School in the Mara Naboisho Conservancy and the local villages will teach you as much about the land as you desire. Additionally, this is the only house that enables guests to attend hot-air balloon rides, at an additional cost.
Bush walks are another favourite, where guests of all ages are drawn closer to nature, feeling the texture of the soil and learning how the flora impacts the land just as much as the fauna.
