Deep within the 200 square kilometres of the Mara Naboisho Conservancy, inside the Greater Maasai Mara, Naboisho Camp is a place lightly populated by people and richly used by an abundance of wildlife. The camp will spoil you with its privacy and density of game.
The main lounge of the camp is an open-space thatched dwelling, exquisitely finished with regal wooden furniture and a cosy fireplace beside which to enjoy an ice cold drink. The communal deck faces out onto the open plains, dotted with acacia trees, where the game weave in and out of view from the leisure of your sunbed. Children are honoured guests at Naboisho.
The 9 tents are airy and light, with the canvas roofing creating luxurious folds of fabric. These tents are partitioned by decadent cream curtains, creating the effect of various rooms and different angles to appreciate the bush from. The weaved carpets, straw furniture and mahogany chests occupy the corners of a space that feels uncannily like home. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with flushing toilets and hot, running water. However, it’s the unimpeded views that stretch into the horizon that will steal your heart at Naboisho Camp. Additionally, make use of the personal service of your butler to carry out your heart’s desires.
Wildlife and Activities
The camp has an air of solitude that comes from being one of the few camps in the conservancy. This results in the freedom to see game without fear of them being chased away by frequent tourist visits. Experience a game drive that has permission to go off-road at any time. Evening and morning safaris are best for glimpsing the elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard and buck. The conservancy has one of the richest numbers of lion, sustained by the bountiful game around it.
Night drives bring the nocturnal eco-system to life, while fly camping allows you to explore the camp for longer periods of time without losing the comfort of hot meals and comfortable beds. Naboisho is famous for its walking safaris, where expert guides will lead you into places where vehicles can’t go, to see things you wouldn’t otherwise experience. Additionally, visits to the local Masai community will teach you about their customs, and hot air balloon rides will thrill your senses from a dizzying height. The children’s program contains an exciting and deeply meaningful approach to entertainment, where children are honorary guests of the Masai culture, experiencing storytelling, games and the Masai way of life.
