An authentic safari experience staying in small exclusive camps with spacious guest tents, comfortably furnished with private bathrooms, solar lights and located in attractive unspoilt natural settings. The Rhino River Camp, is designed with its own private “meditation” area. Here one can unwind, meditate, read a novel or simply sit back and listen to the sounds of the river. Designed in contemporary style with subtle hints of Africa, the rooms are very pleasant yet unobtrusive and elegant. At the camps all meals, drinks (wine, gin & tonic, beer, sodas, mineral water), game drives, walks, night drives and sundowners are included in the price.
The Porini Safari Camps are small and exclusive and run on the same environmentally sound principles – working closely with the local communities. All camps are specially designed to have minimum impact with no permanent structures. At Rhino River Camp, you have the opportunity to visit the Meru National Park, which hosts a large population of Elephant, Hippo, Lion, Cheetah and Leopard among the many African Species with a birdlife of over 300 species.
This safari offers an excellent chance of seeing the big cats by combining stays at the Porini Camps and game drives in Nairobi National Park, Selenkay Conservancy, Amboseli National Park, Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Laikipia, Meru National park, Ol Kinyei & Naboisho Conservancies and Mara Reserve.

Private Charter Flights between areas to get you straight to the wildlife without spending hours travelling between the parks over rough roads. Game drives from the camps in shared 4×4 safari vehicles (not vans) with professional guides.
Safari itinerary and prices
Day 1 – Pick up from Jomo Kenyatta airport (or Nairobi Hotel) and transfer to Nairobi’s Wilson (domestic) airport for the short (40 minutes) early morning Charter flight to Selenkay / Amboseli. Met at the airstrip and transfer to the nearby Porini Amboseli Camp, with a game drive en route, to stay 3 nights. After lunch you will have an escorted walk to a nearby Maasai village to gain an insight into the way of life of the communities living outside the Selenkay Conservancy. You will then drive back into the Selenkay Conservancy. All the big cats have been seen in the Conservancy as well as elephants and a wide range of species including large numbers of giraffes, zebra, and antelopes. There are also less common animals to be seen such as the long-necked gerenuk gazelle, lesser kudu and African wildcat. Enjoy a sundowner at a scenic spot overlooking Kilimanjaro then continue with a night game drive and return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Awake to the noisy calls of the birds. After an early breakfast, we drive through the bush on our private track into Amboseli National Park, for a full morning of game viewing. Following a picnic lunch in the park, we return to camp later in the afternoon. In the evening you will go on a game drive in Selenkay Conservancy, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic viewpoint, followed by a night game drive. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 – Early breakfast and then drive through the Conservancy to the airstrip for the flight to Kamok Airstrip in Ol Pejeta Conservancy (arriving at 11.30h). You will be met at the airstrip and transferred to Porini Rhino Camp; Ol Pejeta Conservancy is in the foothills of Mount Kenya. Lunch and afternoon tea in camp and then head off on a game drive with your driver-guide in the camp’s 4×4 safari vehicle to explore the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Return to Porini Rhino Camp for dinner and overnight.
Days 5 & 6 – Days Spent in Ol Pejeta with game drives and walking activities from camp. Other activities (optional and at a supplement) include a visit to the Endangered Species Boma which houses the World’s last two remaining Northern White Rhino and Lion Tracking. All meals and overnight at Porini Rhino Camp.
Day 7 – Early morning game drive and breakfast, then transfer to the airstrip for your chartered flight to Meru National Park. On arrival to the airstrip, you’ll be met and transferred to the camp with an en-route game drive. Upon arrival at the camp, check in and enjoy lunch. After lunch enjoy your new home, take a swim or relax and take some rest, following late afternoon tea, proceed for a game drive. The open plains are dotted with acacias and mighty baobabs, which provide much needed reprieve to the elephants, from the harsh African sun. Meru National Park is home to a wide variety of animals and more than 400 recorded species of birds. . The park is well known for its fauna and natural beauty
Day 8 & 9 – Enjoy a full day game drive in the park. Wake up early and see the sleeping hyraxes huddled together as you make your way for an early morning game drive. Watch as the sun rises and the savanna takes on a rosy hue, the nocturnal game looking for shelter and the plains game celebrate another night of survival. Explore through the various habitats, along the many rivers, forests and open plains. Other range of activities in the the camp includes bush walks, or visiting the nearby rhino sanctuary.
Day 10 – Early morning game drive and breakfast, then transfer to the airstrip for the charter flight to the Masai Mara. You will be met and transferred to Porini Mara Camp, arriving for lunch. In the afternoon you will have a game drive with a sundowner at a scenic spot followed by a night game drive with spotlights to search for nocturnal animals, including the elusive leopards which are resident in Ol Kinyei Conservancy, before heading back to camp for dinner. Overnight at Porni Mara Camp.
Day 11 & 12 – Days spent Exploring the famous Masai Mara. After an early breakfast on day 12, leave camp and spend the day game-viewing in the famous Masai Mara Reserve with a picnic lunch in the park. Later in the evening have a sundowner in the Conservancy and night drive then dinner and overnight at Porini Mara Camp.
Day 13 – Early morning game drive in the conservancy returning for breakfast. Mid-morning transfer to the airstrip for the 11am charter flight back to Nairobi’s Wilson airport (arriving 12h15. Transfer to the international airport or a Nairobi hotel (hotel not included but can be added at a supplement).
Extra Nights can be added at any camp. Alternatively, extend your stay by flying to the Kenya Coast or the Spice Island of Zanzibar to relax on the pure white beaches of the Indian Ocean.
