Game Lodges and Camps

Tanzanian Game Lodges & Camps

There are so many game lodges and camps in the travel industry that it becomes difficult to work with all of them.  Ngwe Safari has handpicked a selection of game lodges and camps in the most sought after and beautiful areas in Tanzania.  Over the years we have built up good relationships with these properties and assure our Valued Clients quality, excellent game viewing and a memorable stay.

If there is a particular game lodge or camp that you are looking for and do not find it in our list of properties, please let us know and we will gladly assist your preferred lodge or camp.

The Tanzania Portfolio has been divided into regions for ease of navigation.

Region – Lake Manyara

Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife.  Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large waterbirds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks. Inland of the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favoured haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants.  A wonderful inclusion to your itinerary and adding to a contrasting safari in Tanzania!

Region – Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater – Africa’s Eden, the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World’ and a world-class attraction.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area includes the famous Crater, Olduvai Gorge, and huge expanses of forests, scrub bush and highland plains that cover approximately 8200 square kilometres.  Lake Ndutu and Masek, both alkaline soda lakes are home to rich game populations as well as a series of peaks and volcanoes that make the Conservation Area a unique and beautiful landscape.  The Crater itself is the main attraction as the flora opens to grassy plains throughout the crater floor. The game viewing is truly incredible and the views are spectacular!

Region – Serengeti National Park

Tanzania’s oldest park and a World Heritage site, the Serengeti region includes the Serengeti National Park itself, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Maswa Game Reserve, the Loliondo, Grumeti and Ikorongo Controlled Areas and the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.

Along with the open plains, incredible wildlife and the Great Migration is what Serengeti is most famous for.  Over a million wildebeest and a couple hundred thousand zebras and Thomson’s gazelle travel south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then move west and north after the long rains in April, May and June.  With this off course come the many predators which offers excellent and exciting game viewing opportunities.
