With tall thatched roof scoping the Kambaku River Sands waterhole, the voluminous main lodge allows for guests to unwind in bliss. Prepare to tuck into gourmet local cuisine under the stars, where the festivities of African entertainment will often compel guests to join in the dancing and singing. A spa, dedicated to pampering, steam rooms and sauna for deeper relaxation, off-set the activity guests can work up in the gym. The curio shop stocks a wealth of local items, hand-made by the gifted artisans of Africa.
Accommodation and Facilities
All 10 Thatched Suites contain exquisite décor and individual verandas with breath-taking vistas of the bushveld or the dry river bed, where guests can evade the sweltering heat of noon. Beds are swathed in authentic satin sheets and mosquito netting covers all sliding doors. Rooms contain en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers, air-conditioning and a mini-bar with butler trays. All amenities have been thoughtfully chosen and painstakingly laid out so that you can sit back and soak in the splendour.
Activities and Game Viewing
With Kambuku’s unfenced perimeter the wildlife moves liberally through the lodge. Morning and evening safaris happen each day, in open vehicles that allow for unhindered photography of the panoramic veld. Bush walks and birding at the local Twins Dam Hide will give you a perspective on Africa that none but the most patient travellers know.
