Camp Okavango, an enchanting and authentic African safari lodge, situated on the remote Nxaragha Island is at the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta. This assures you an unparalleled year-round water wilderness adventure. And with its recent recognition as a World Heritage Site, Camp Okavango’s conservation-minded approach to keeping the Delta pristine will ensure years upon years of protection.
To ensure a peaceful and genuine safari experience, Camp Okavango accommodates just 24 guests in intimate East African-style safari tents. Each tent is individually situated on a raised teak platform, features en-suite facilities and enjoys sliding glass doors which open on to a private viewing deck. Those seeking the ultimate in exclusivity will love the Okavango Suite, a spacious thatched cottage which offers complete privacy and unadulterated luxury – perfect for honeymooners.
Camp Okavango’s traditional thatch and lethaka (reed) main lodge features a cocktail bar, lounge and wildlife reference library. The dining room leads onto an expansive open-air patio which is perfect for brunch, afternoon tea and tranquil evenings around the fire. Other facilities include a secluded bird-viewing hide and a sundeck with plunge pool for relaxing during the sunny, midday hours.
Activities & Wildlife
All game-viewing activities are conducted by experienced guides and include exploring the Okavango Delta by mokoro or motorboat and tracking the larger game species on guided nature walks, traversing the many surrounding islands.
Getting closer to nature has never been easier with Bushwalks, where you will saunter over the nearby islands and walk in the spoor of some of the bigger land animals of the Delta. Bird-watchers will delight in the plethora of birds fluttering and gliding through the reeds, whilst avid fishers can test their skills against the tiger and bream fish of the water channels. Regrettably, no game drives are available in this water world of adventure.
