Bonded to the banks of the Mara River, Governors’ Camp gives each guest a chance to witness the unspoilt majesty of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. With its collection of accommodations, you have a choice of where you’d like to stay and what levels of comfort you’d like to experience.
Crackling breakfast fires, the sound of a warthog family rummaging through foliage and the chirping symphony of birds are some of the sounds that you’ll become accustomed to waking up to at Little Governors’ Camp. The only access to the camp is via a boat across the Mara River. This keeps the privacy and tranquillity of the camp alive. Breakfasts and lunches are eaten out in the open, overlooking the green plains and mountains of the Masai Mara National Park.
The 17 tents are blessed with the modern luxuries of en-suite bathroom facilities, hot and cold running water, flushing toilets and electricity. The polished mahogany floors provide a contrast to the light tans and beige fabrics of the tent walls and comfortable bedding. The simplicity of the tents has been carefully planned not to upstage the nature beyond the canvas, but provide spacious comfort to all visitors. Unwind the afternoons in a deck chair, watching the elephants dining on a nearby tree for lunch. Renowned for its sustainable approaches to symbiotic living with nature, Little Governors’ unfenced borders create delightful close-encounters with all of the true inhabitants of the Kenyan wilderness.
