Lemala Kuria Hills

Location

Tucked away in the boulder-strewn Wogakurya Hills of the Northern Serengeti, Lemala Kuria Hills is not far from the Mara River, where the Great Migration passes each year. The difference between Lemala and the other camps of its nature are the resplendent degrees of decadence in design and the impeccable service provided.

Accommodation

Clean, simple and contemporary, each of the communal tented areas of the camp are floored in timber, and filled with sofas and wooden furnishings that maximise space. The glass doors slide back to reveal a deck, where guests can unwind in the cooling waters of the pool. The circular fire pit is bookmarked by a granite buttress, creating a sense of rootedness amongst the panoramic views of the Northern Serengeti below Lemala Kuria. As afternoon slips into evening the innumerable stars become the main attraction, back-dropped by a symphony of nocturnal bush calls.

No expense has been spared in creating the 15 tented suites. Each one is carefully pocketed between the granite outcroppings for complete privacy. The timber decks that border each suite use sharp lines that complement the granite. Spend the afternoons relaxing in your private plunge pool, from which game-viewing is just as possible. The glass-fronted walls of the suite open onto the king-size bed, draped in soft linens, and a spacious lounge with another incredible view of the grasslands. The en-suite bathrooms have all the amenities of a contemporary hotel and there is internet access anywhere in the lodge.
