Within the Grumeti Reserve, in northern Tanzania’s tracts of wilderness, Singita Mara River Camp has an eco-friendly and off-grid philosophy that leaves visitors truly connected to the land.
Lodge and Accommodation
The tented camp uses off-the-grid energy, relying on solar power and natural, as well as recycled, materials for all its needs. Here you’ll experience the laidback charms of a camp that exudes nature’s comfort. The communal areas hold dining and lounge areas, along with a pool to quench the afternoon heat. Children over the age of ten are welcome guests, with activities to keep them entertained throughout your stay.
The 4 single tented suites are decorated in the colours of the Maasai people. Scarlet reds, infused with vibrant turquoise and yellow capture the passion that the tribes of Kenya are famous for. The spun fabrics, stone work and leather furnishings fill the suites, creating a space of rustic charisma that lingers long in the memories of guests, urging them back to a simpler and somehow more gratifying way of life. Added to this are the artistic pieces, created by local artists that enhance the internal spaces of each tent further. The 2 family tents are perfect for families of four and come with all the indulgent en-suite comforts that Singita approves of.
Activities and Wildlife
From spa services to archery and bush walks to local village visits, there’s something for everyone at Singita Mara River Camp. Game drives draw travellers out into the wild heart of the Grumeti Reserve, where dawn and dusk are the ideal moments to capture the animals foraging and at play, when the day is coolest.
During the Great Migration season, guests move among the throngs of infinite wildebeest. Watching them make this yearly trek to new feeding grounds is a humbling experience. The sheer numbers of the game and the predators that follow them have a way of redefining life for all who glimpse the affair.
