Shaded on the outskirts of the thriving town of Arusha, shadowed by the dwarfing Mount Meru, Arusha Coffee Lodge is a getaway for the traveller desiring aromatic solitude.
The essence of the coffee estate has been celebrated in every inch of the design, with the traditional strength of ironwood beams and heavy mahogany floors serving as the foundation to the lodge. The main area is designed around an Olympic size pool, with French doors leading out to the waters from the comfort of amber-lit tables. Guests are encouraged to laze in the soft couches of the lounge, or dine in the cosy bistro. A stack of modern amenities are present at the lodge, with satellite television on hand for those seeking connection to the world.
The 30 Plantation Cottages are suites and rooms, spread out among the coffee fields, offering views of the luscious bushes and the aromas that come with them. The Plantation Suites are modern in design yet tranquil in setting, bearing polished floors, comfortable beds and sofas and chandeliers hung from the ironwood rafters. En-suite bathrooms hold baths and rainfall showers. The Plantation Rooms offer decks with delightful views of the coffee garden, as well as a log fire place and comfortable, luxurious furnishings.
Wildlife & Activities
Traditional tours of the plantation take guests through the process of making coffee, and end with a cup of freshly roasted java in your hand. Adventurers will love visiting the Arusha National Park, where the forests are home to the blue and the colobus monkey, Narina trogons and intelligent turacos. Delve into the basin and you’ll see the Ngurdoto Crater, where the warthogs and buffalo abide in peaceful harmony. Day trips to the Ngorongoro are also available, for an intimate immersion into the wonders of Tanzania.
